GeoGarage access from Opencpn

For only Eur 10.- per month,I have access to detailed nautical maps in many parts of the world from GeoGarage.

Linking to Geo Garage from within OpenCPN using the POI feature,I have immediate and detailed access to ports and congested navigation areas. You can even set up POI´s linking to specific map areas.

You can create routes for planning purposes, using very detailed charts, avoiding shallow water and obstructions, and then save the route as a .gpx file for later import to OpenCPN. See the coverage from the list on the right of the screenshots below.

A very useful utility and well worth the subscription fee.

Re: GeoGarage access from Opencpn

I can also recommend the Norwegian State Mapping Department´s new
"Norgeskart" service you can read more about here:
http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/...ce-102257.html

I have also entered this Norwegian map link in my Norwegian POI group for OpenCPN for quick and easy access without leaving OpenCPN. Another handy feature, similar to GeoGarage, mention in my previous posting.

The Scandinavians and also the Brits are fortunate enough to have total G3 and G4 internet connection all around their coasts, for the rest, you just take some screen copies of the areas you intend to visit before departure,

Re: GeoGarage access from Opencpn

And here an example of an OpenCPN POI invoking a GeoGarage map of Florida showing a carefully prepared route.gpx file for import to OCPN.
