From the screen shots I see you are comparing images
at different heights. The GE2KAP chart height is determined by the area you have displayed in OpenCPN. If you raise the Google Earth altitude/height to the same area you may find them nearly the same.
1) If you go to the third screen of GE2KAP and change the GE Bottom Crop Amount to 102 it will eliminate the garbage at the bottom of the image (GE logo etc.). Be aware that the bottom of the display in OpenCPN you are using to create a chart will be cut off.
2) If you use the SAS Planet program as the source of satellite
imagery you will have three sources: GE, Bing and ESRI/ArcGIS. From these three sources you can choose the best one ... often eliminating cloud cover and viewing at a lower altitude (hence better resolution). Though I don't recommend it due to areas of poor location accuracy, the Navionics Marine
and Sonar charts
are also available in SAS Planet.
