Yes, but the whole thing with OCPN and the "new"
broadband radars are that you can view the radar picture over your
charts.
-You can compare the charts and reality (radar pic).
-You'll get an
AIS target correction. (AIS type B can be delayed some minutes)
-It is possible to use GPS-COG instead of a heading, using BR24Radar_pi, but the radar picture position accuracy will be poor. Especially on side drift due to
current or
wind when COG is not pointing to
head. But as a start it could do.
If you can stand a black "silly" radar picture buy a used X-band "tractor". They would be cheep now when
broadband are here?
