Garmin Chartplotter uploads from OpenCPN

Hello OpenCPN Users. The OpenCPN User Manual warns of a "design feature" from Garmin that makes it difficult to send routes from OpenCPN to the Garmin Chartplotter (421S).
I have checked the box "Use Garmin GRMN/GRMN (Host) Mode for Waypoint & Route uploads" .. but still no luck....
Any ideas??/ (I have transferred routes from computer to computer but still not to the Garmin.)

I had the same issue with my Garmin 540s at first. A few things to check:

- Make sure the Garmin in in "Garmin" mode in the communications settings.
- Make sure that the transmit on Garmin is hooked to receive on O, the receive on Garmin is hooked to transmit on O and ground(-) on Garmin is hooked to ground (-) on O.

Please update to OpenCPN version 3.2.0, just released. Data connection -code and -interface have been updated, and is quite different from 3.0.2 that you appear to use.

3.2.0 works fine with a gps128, set "interface" on the garmin to "grmn/grmn" then right click route and "send to gps". and off it goes.
istr in previous version only waypoints could be uploaded.
