Thanks for the log. You can see the results at the bottom. Commo is OK, but there is some server parameter question/error.

I have prepared a tech request to Fugawi by email, copied you. We await their response.

Also, I updated github again to automatically redact any user password from the logfile, for your security. You might like to pull and build that now.

Another thing you could try is to delete the [ofc_pi] section from your OpenCPN config file, entirely, and start OCPN from scratch. That may be interesting.

Deleted the configuration file section for the ofc_pi and got same results.

I went off the NOAA chart before we got the fugawi 400 error fixed. I had to buy iNavX Android to get BC charts. (A different chart package but also from Fugawi.)

OpenCPN seems more capable and much more user-configureable.

I will be interested to know if this bug ever gets fixed. Fugawi tech support showed almost no interest in this problem over the last two weeks.

Fugawi apparently did something on their end. I was able to activate and download the Canadian chart set without an error yesterday.

I am still investigating which chart provider suits my needs the best way. I am playing around with oesenc charts but that is really tight to my Pi installation. How does Fugawi work with the licensing? If I would reinstall my Pi would that cause my license to become invalid?

Depending on what you are doing the outcome will be similar.

The other point to take into account are your preferences:
Fugawi serves raster charts while oeSENCs are Vector.

Depending how you re-install you will loose your license for the Fugawis as well.
This is all very similar from the OpenCON side.

The difference when dealing to recover some lost licenses is that in the case of oeSENC you are dealing with o-charts and in the case of Fugawi charts with Johnson outdoors/Fugawi.

Hi all,

I really like opencpn and I am trying to assemble Odroid C2 to be used as navigation on a sailing boat. After initial trials with OpenSeaMaps, I want to integrate fugawi charts. So I started setting it up with free samples on my Linux PC, but I cannot get further than refresh chart list.

I have "purchased" 2 free samples from fugawi shop to see/test how they work with opencpn. I followed instructions on https://opencpn.org/OpenCPN/plugins/fugawi.html and each time when I click on "Refresh Chart List" it fails after about 10 seconds with "Status: Communications error { 2 }". I have tried this on opencpn 4.8.4 and 4.8.6. I have tried with plugin 1.0.0 and 1.1.0, which I compiled from source, always with the same result.

I am using OpenCPN on Linux PC (x86_64), Ubuntu 16.04. Although later I indent to use it on Odroid C2 (arm64).
I am sure I have good internet connection. I am using the plugin by Dave Register from https://github.com/bdbcat/ofc_pi
I've seen earlier posts about special characters. My password has only simple letters and numbers.

Did you try to install the plug-in from the Ubuntu repository?

OK, that works. Exit status is 0.
But then why the errors in opencpn?

I just tried again, version from master and from ubuntu xenial repository.
Each time it ends with the same with communication error {2} and the logs I posted.

Btw, I also tried to this, and it also passes:

I can see the xml reply with all maps associated with my account.

I don't understand the post #52 and #53!

I bought the chart Berlin and around in the Fugawi shop. After installation, all works fine.

Now, I changed the Raspberry Pi from Version 3B to 3B+ for more power and change the SD Card to the 3B+. No new installation! I can't see the chart, only the frames are visible. I try to reinstall but an error about index.xml appear.

All software is up to date, OpenCPN, Openplotter, Fugawi Plugin and OS.

What can I do to fix this problem. Will be the error appear after every hardware change?

I suppose that you took the SD card with all OpenCPN data to the new system.

Then in the chart data base the outlines of the charts are still present, but the charts will not show up as this is a new system and hence requiring its own chart sets.

Remember that the chart sets are created for each system individually.
The log file should show you that the single chart files can't be opened.
