'From Ownship'

OK I am a very newbe to OpenCPN and have just started to play with it using a basic Caribbean .gif chart and no GPS. I somehow have an "Ownship" icon sitting just south of the Cayman Islands which I can't move or delete. I can't see any reference to it in the user manual. When I move my cursor the "From Ownship" box at the bottom of my screen always refers back to the direction and distance from/to this "ownship". What am not understanding? Thanks!!

Ownship is where you are at - once you plug a gps in that represents your boat! The default position seems to be in the Cayman islands right now..

Just right click and choose move boat here. voila!
