Fedora Compile Link Error

greetings,

just discovered opencpn this morning and am trying to compile
from source on fedora fc14 x86_64. Not sure if it is supported
but I have a 32 bit fc14 system available as a fallback.
OpenCPN-2.1.624a-Source from sourceforge.net

cmake -- ok no complaints about dependencies
make -- fails at link step

Linking CXX executable opencpn
/usr/bin/ld: libNMEA0183.a(nmea.cpp.o): undefined reference to symbol 'dlsym@@GLIBC_2.2.5'
/usr/bin/ld: note: 'dlsym@@GLIBC_2.2.5' is defined in DSO /lib64/libdl.so.2 so try adding it to the linker command line
/lib64/libdl.so.2: could not read symbols: Invalid operation
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[2]: *** [opencpn] Error 1
make[1]: *** [CMakeFiles/opencpn.dir/all] Error 2
make: *** [all] Error 2

You can download rpm for Fedora here:
Download OpenCPN | Official OpenCPN Homepage
You can use 2.2 beta build 1124 it's very close to the next 2.3 stable that'll be released very soon.
I'll upload beta build 1211 in a few seconds plus 2.1 stable rpm that's missing there.

thanks, I saw the 32 bit rpm for fedora and will give it a try in time. If you don'tmind though, I would like to continue trying to compile a 64 bit version for
fedora fc14. Not sure where to ask for assistance with the link step?

Can you tell me the output of
Code:
rpm -qa glibc\*
I just tested (but on 32bit) and it went fine. Here are the steps I did:
Code:
tar -xvzf OpenCPN-2.1.624a-Source.tar.gz
cd OpenCPN-2.1.624a-Source
mkdir build
cd build
cmake -Dprefix=/usr ../
make
Can you test from scratch with the above process. If it fails, please post the whole output from cmake and make and we'll try to find out what's wrong.

compile of OpenCPN-2.3.0-Source

I have not gotten around to further testing with
OpenCPN-2.1.624a-Source. However today I was able
to compile OpenCPN-2.3.0-Source as a 64 bit application.
Thanks and just for informational purposes:

rpm -qa glibc\*
glibc-headers-2.12.90-19.x86_64
glibc-2.12.90-19.x86_64
glibc-devel-2.12.90-19.x86_64
glibc-common-2.12.90-19.x86_64
