Does this problem still occur?

Granted, in an ideal world, OpenCPN would work (display) correctly in all modes, but that's also a tall order, given the available testing & all the corner cases. The more info you can provide, the easier the Devs can deal with it.

I am happy to provide more information Jon.

Here is an additional view with the Desktop Light Mode...the Tab text is readable because it's black on a light background.

I have also included views from the Dark-Desktop (OCPN Day and Night mode) for comparison.

Here are a few observations :
  1. Unlike the Option Window, OPCN seams to use the defaut desktop color scheme for the TAB...maybe this is could be overridden in OCPN code ?
  2. TAB selection does not trigger a change in the TAB text/background like the selection of a menu item in the Option Windows...if this is programmatically accessible, it could solve the problem.
  3. Adding a TAG in opencpn.conf or including this in the Option/User Interface/Fonts dropdown menu would also give more control over this issue
I understand this issue is cosmetic and not critical to OCPN but the Desktop Dark Mode is not only very popular but extremely convenient at sea at night. We've sail from NZ to Hawaii last year and we are now preparing another long offshore passage from Honolulu to Alaska this June. I am only telling you this to illustrate that we are a "power user" of OCPN and we are very great-full to all of you working on this wonderful piece of software.

Please let me know if I can provide more information....cheers.

Re: Feature Requests

A way to mask a specific AIS MMSI number. My problem is, I recently installed a cheap AIS transponder. (Socotran ST-109M). My Standard Horizon GX2150 has a matching MMSI number programmed into it. The GX2150 does locally ignore the matching MMSI number, however it still outputs the matching MMSI out the NMEA 0183 serial port. So, Opencpn sees my boat's AIS on top of itself.

try this, uncheck my options and check the ones with the arrow:
of course insert your MMSI in the proper textbox

Re: Feature Requests

Suggestion: eliminate unsupported plug-ins from Android plug-in catalog.

It would be great if only the plug-ins that worked on Android showed up in the OpenCPN plug-in catalog in the Android version.

Some of them can cause problems when one tries to install.

Thanks,
Bruce

Re: Feature Requests

Bruce...
Do you have concise list of the faulty plugins on Android?

Thanks

Re: Feature Requests

Dave, Bruce ...

My bad. I should have removed a lot of the Android versions. Biggest problem is a sensible re-sizing of the dialog and access to folders for related data. I do not see many templates for good Android builds that are not built into the core.

Re: Feature Requests

Hi Dave and Mike,
I don't have a list. I can put one together if necessary. Is it Mike?. I just found out because I recommended otCurrent to a friend who was heading out on the R2AK but it crashed his tablet. My tablet didn't crash but it got an install error.
