No scroll option in NMEA debug window proposed
In option/connections, the NMEA debug window can be shown.
Here one can select "pause" and "copy".
I propose to add another option to this NMEA debug window, called for instance "no scroll". When this is activated, incoming NMEA sentences will overwrite the previous sentence with the same NMEA identifier. (talker identifier and sentence identifier).
So when there are 10 different NMEA identifiers coming in, you will see exactly these 10 lines. Including the ones which are only sent rarely, or only once at startup of some equipment.
This option is present in the MPXconfig2 software controlling the Miniplex series of multiplexers, and in my experience is very practical for analyzing NMEA problems.

Re: Feature Requests
night/day/twilight modes:
Set a dark theme in night / twilight? I like to have the menu bar visible as it holds some features not easily accessible without a keyboard- but the menu nar is blindingly bright in twilight / night mode.

Jef & Marin, Thanks for this.
If you want folks to vote for it, it's best to provide the bug number, or even better, provide a link back to the feature request itself. There are a ton of issues in the database, & few folks want to paw through all of them looking for yours.

Hi Jon, you are right, sorry I should have added the link.
Here it is:
https://opencpn.org/flyspray/index.p...s&task_id=2804
This concerns voting for the addition of a "no scroll" option to the NMEA debug window.
Thanks,
Jef

Current problems
Hello,
I write here because I sail a lot with this app. Until now this was really perfect, but now I buy a android 11 tablet and I have two problems:
1: The app can not track anymore if it is running in the background (for example by downloading grip files etc.) I also use the navionics boating and here it is still possible. I think it have something to do with the permission of background working. Can you please take a look if you can optimize this?
2: I still have the problem that I get the error "wxWidgets Debug Alert" (see attached picture) some times. (I have had it also with my older Galaxy Tab A with I think Android 8 so I think this is not only a problem on my device) Can you please also take a look at these problem?
Best regards
Oli

Re: Feature Requests
Would love for functionality to allow openCPN to use the internal GPS on laptops/tablets running windows 10 and so on without having to use the Geolocation app. This does not work well on my computer, and seems to be several others with similar problems.

Re: Feature Requests
Github.com/opencpn/opencpn but you will need to compile it.

Thanks

Sorry to add a question to a question. We are going to be using open CPN as a back up nav system as we head into Central America this season. I just purchased a Laverno laptop with Windows 11. Plan to also use GlobalSat 05-BU353-W10 gps external antenna/puck. My questions: will open CPN work on Windows 11 and will I need to use an internal geolocation app to run it?
