Feature Development

I'm interested in adding a couple of features to OpenCPN. Is there a developer's forum? Submission guidelines?


I've proven to myself that I have at least some (most?) of the necessary parts -- I can modify the source code, and compile and install it locally, and it works (I successfully added "previous week" and "next week" buttons to the Tide Information panel in TCWin.cpp).

If we have a developer's Forum, this is it. You are at the right place.

Normally, Features are added by means of Pull Requests to the github OpenPCN project. On that site, other active developers may comment on your new Features, suggest alternatives, etc. At some point, the Feature usually is accepted and integrated into the master code base, and thus becomes published at the next official Release..
