Display problem with menu V5.6.2 and before

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

I'm running into a problem and never found a thread or solution for it.
OpenCPN from V4.8 to latest version...
When I point to an icon in the left menu, I don't see the name of the icon but a horizontal line of the supposed length of the text.
See attached screenshot.
If anyone can help me solve this problem,
Thanks in advance.

Re: Display problem with menu V5.6.2 and before

No answers but I can make a couple of suggestions.

Several problems go away when you toggle OpenGL from on to off (or off to on). That would be worth a try.

I've also seen several problems that were specific to the language that the computer is using. Switching to English may cause it to go away.

If either change the display you may get a faster response by posting your results on the OpenCPN bugtracker site.

Thanks, I'll try those tests, OpenGL was activated (by default).

Re: Display problem with menu V5.6.2 and before

I just tried, OpenGL on or off, each time closing OpenCPN to be sure it takes effect. Same problem. Not having the Nvidia card drivers installed (or even the Nvidia card activated for power saving reasons), I reactivated it, installed the latest proprietary drivers (I am under Linux), tested OpenGL in the same way, same, same display problem. I also tested the language by switching from French to English (UK) or English (US), same. I will look for where the OpenCPN bugtracker link is to try to explain this little problem. Thank you again for your help.

I looked at the OpenCPN site, I need to be registered, and I'm not sure where and how to get this problem. And as I am French, there may be a translation error...
So, I stay it "as is", may be it will be corrected later ?
