Detail level of OESENC charts in croatia

Attached are two screenshots of a bay on Rab island in croatia. I have played with the colouring section in opencpn for vector charts depth sounding, but could not get a better result. It looks like oesenc charts have much less details on depth soundings in comparison to navionics.
Is this correct or am I doing something completely wrong here?
Also opencpn does not show me the names of the islands, is this also missing in the chart or some wrong setting?

Many thanks for your help and ideas,

Gernot

Your conclusion is correct. There is no official vector chart with more details.
The oeSENC charts are based on the official charts. These in turn are of-course mainly geared towards commercial shipping. So there are quite a few cruising areas that are not adequately covered. This is a general problem for "official" charts. The area is also covered by oeRNC/Imray charts, that are supposedly geared towards cruisers, but in this particular area, the coverage is even worse.

I can see the odd name, so you need to do some tweaking.

Adding to Thomas comments:

two screen shots from the actual oeSENC chart and the Imray chart covering the area. As you see, the density of soundings is not very high and we have to suppose that the Croatian Hydrographic Office did not make more detailed surveys. Where the data of Navionics are from only they know.

For texts: make sure that "national texts" are enabled in the vector chart settings. The example is with display category "All" and national text enabled.

The Navionics chart, you are presenting, is the SONAR chart, which is based on user data and not on an official survey. The data base is of questionable quality. As far as I understand Navionics is using some interpolation scheme between acquired data points to generate the great looking charts. However, I am not sure how reliable these data are.

Navionics Sonar charts are very inaccurate in the area I sail in, it appears they are just interpolated from soundings with little or no user data input. It’s not realistic to compare them with oeSenc or any other real charts.

As far as I can see, the chart in Post 1 is of a "normal" Navionics chart, and not a "Sonar Chart".
Compare these two picture from Navionics charts on-line-site.

First the normal chart

Then the Sonar version

Just so we get the facts straight.

It seems that the Croatian raster-charts are not more detailed than the vector-charts. So what are the Navionics charts based on. Where is the survey? Anyone with access to the real thing?

For me... Navionics charts are for discussions, not for navigation.
