Data update in the background on Raspi

Maybe I could be done something wrong.

Raspi 5 16 Gb (running from SSD)
Debian 12 Bookworm ARM64
O 5.10.2-2, NMEA direct connection via UDP (not using signal k or another "buffer")

I must keep O in the screen to receive data.
if I minimized the program to taskbar, it keeps minimized but no NMEA data is received, just when restored the windows it starts to receive data again.

this doesn't happen in windows version, that the program is running in the background when minimized.

is there any switch or trick in the program/system to keep in processing data?

How do you know that, if the app is minimized??

Thanks
Dave

Good question.

check for received data, AIS target, Position icon with three green bars, etc.

minimized O
waiting for the time of AIS target being alive if not ....
restored O
the position icon is dot green an after some milliseconds converted in green bars, some AIS targets deleted other marked as "old".
some other data in the dashboard disappeared and after restoring O the same that position data, after some miliseconds displayed.
this could mean that during minimized there has not been receipt/processing data in O.

Re: Data update in the background on Raspi

Just to be more accurate about not "processing" data in the background.

The raspi has a com connection for meteo data and UDP for GPS and AIS data.
the meteo data is sent via UDP to my network to share with other computers.

while O is in the screen, I receive meteo data to computers in the network, that's one sign that data is being processed.

minimized O in Raspi, gone to my desktop with w11 and meteo data not received. (sshot-3)

gone to Raspi restored O and at the same time done a screenshot, attached.

the position is a dot green (I've seen red dot too) in just a second becomes three green bars, the satellite constellation not present, same one second and displayed, meteo data lost and the same one second and all displayed.

inmediatelly on my computer (w11) started receiving meteo data too.

maybe I'll have to test if AIS data is being received in MarineTraffic, because I have another UDP connection uploading target data of my area, I'll have to left at least one hour minimised for receiving a message that communication is lost.
