Well I tried to build a Buster version but failed. It seems some incompatibility between the wxWidgets and/or GTK version used by Buster. I suggest you reach out to the developer of dashboard_tactics_pi and find out if he plans to update the build scripts to work with Buster. This is the git repository where you can ask questions.

I was able to make a version for Buster. You can download it here:

Re: Dashboard-Tactics (Dash T)

Hi,

While sailing last weekend I noticed that I could not get 'Performance %' as displayed on the display of Dash-T on my NKE TL25 mast display.

Dash-T display : 85% NKE TL25 mastdisplay : 0%.

As far as I know it always worked ok in Tactics_pi

The other performance sentences on NKE TL25 are looking ok.

I also noticed that current speed and current direction on Dash-T digitaldisplay stays visible for 2-3 seconds and than disapear for 8-10 seconds, display Dash-T changes : ---

On the performancecompas from Dash-T where the current is also displayed it is not disappearing (speed and big blue Arrow)

On my NKE TL25 current is also displayed and even updated more often with data from Dash-T.

Operating system is Win 10 with O 5.0

I can get a log file but do not have it yet while typing this

regards,

Joost

Re: Dashboard-Tactics (Dash T)

Hi Joost,

I have a TL25 but the harbor has NA flags hoisted so no sailing for now.

Would you mind to create two distinct bug reports for the TL25 and the current display issue in my GitHub repository? Please precise version (like v1.5.11). opencpn.log file is probably not needed but to debug the TL25 issue you can simply use OpenCPN Options -> Connections -> Show NMEA debug window with filter 'PN'. Hit Pause. If you see $PNKEP,03,50.0,0.0,80.5*65<0x0D><0x0A> then the NKE performance percentage value is going out from O.

Best regards,
Petri

Re: Dashboard-Tactics (Dash T)

Hi
I am currently trying to install Dashboard-Tactics on my Raspberry-Pi on Rasperrian OS. I succede installing OPNCPN 5.0 and several plugins, but it doen't seem to be able to find install package opencpn-plugin-dashboardtactics.
Do I need to change something in the source-list file?

Jen...
Dashboard-Tactics does not yet exist for rPI. We plan to add it shortly.

Sorry Dave

Re: Dashboard-Tactics (Dash T)

Hi Jen, try github.com/canne/dashboard_tactics_pi/releases/latest - I test my builds also on a RPI 4B O v5.0 w/ Rasbian and attach them to the release page. No issues for me with Rasbian (strangely more with Ubuntu): both require a few libwx-packages not pulled in by O installation, so please install with those dependencies, using apt and not dpkg.A few posts above there seems to be a link to an alternative build which you can try.

Re: Dashboard-Tactics (Dash T)

I will ask K to fix these links. Thanks

I believe Petri removed that branch 1.5.11 but the releases are still there
These mimic the Dashboard in Opencpn now, subsequent releases diverge for improved features:

Windows https://github.com/canne/dashboard_t...s/tag/v1.5.111 use exe

MacOS https://github.com/canne/dashboard_t...s/tag/v1.5.111 use pkg.

Also amd files available.

Dan's CS repository is also useful.

Re: Dashboard-Tactics (Dash T)

Petri [Canne] responded with a complete summary of the plugin direction:

Thanks very much

For those interested in the development of Dashboard-Tactics Petri wrote

Quote:
P.S. on those "13 platforms", is the wxWebView working out of the box? That would be interesting information (read here about my findings on *nix platforms)
He asks the question about webview wxwidgets for nix environments. If you read the RPI section here you will understand the question better.

https://github.com/canne/dashboard_t.../tag/v1.98.104

It would be interesting to have Alex Leamas and Dave comment on this as they are far more experienced than I about this. However the Plugin Manager frontends do have three environments available for armhf and armhf64.

Re: Dashboard-Tactics (Dash T)

Looks like end of the road v1.5.111 has no webview, so it could be converted for Plugin Manager and work with gtk2.

Petri advises that v2.0 which is the development branch is more powerful and does use webview and does not support gtk2, so it could be built with Plugin Manager, but eliminate the scripts that build gtk2 versions.

Petri will continue to provide updates to v2.0 as he has in the past.

Re: Dashboard-Tactics (Dash T)

As just an end user, it would be great to have this in Plugin Manager... Looking forward to that. I love Dash_T.
