Dark Side of 4x HD screen

I've been putting up with this for months. With my new 4x screen and Windows 10, the bottom line of information on OpenCPN is so tiny I can barely see it. Don't know name of the bar (ships position,SOG COG,cursor LAT LON range and bearing to cursor and chart's scale).

I want to make that information larger and since I don't know what the bar containing it is is called, I have zero chance of searching for an answer. And my guesses haven't worked either.

Help will be highly appreciated.

Thanks

If you install opencpn statusbar plugin, you will be able to control the size of text on this line . See opencpn plugins download: PlugIns for OpenCPN 4.2 | Official OpenCPN Homepage

od this direct link for windows download: http://opencpn.navnux.org/plugins/st...-0.6-win32.exe

Re: Dark Side of 4x HD screen

Patience242...

you have not told us which version of OCPN you are using.

At "Options" - the "wrench symbol from the Toolbar" - and the UserInterface you control the visibility of the status bar - the one you are talking about - and the chart bar or chart piano.

At "Display" at the "Advanced" tab you might check if the width of your screen is discovered correctly, and modify the value if required.

And you have the option of the plug-in Petter mentioned already.

Wink Re: Dark Side of 4x HD screen

Thanks folks!
On 4.2, installed the status bar plugin and played with it.

Very nice and intuitive. Really like being able to label the data so my crew can remember what's what. Only better thing might be an ability to control the font of each field.

Along the way I figured out how I might have found the name of the Status bar- which as you have pointed out is what I was missing...

Re: Dark Side of 4x HD screen

still OpenCPN 4.2 on windows10 with quad HD screen. Now that I have gotten Status bar big enough to see and played with all the other drop down menu choices font settings...

The tide and current popup windows have text size large enough to see but am no longer able to see the date of the plot... And the buttons at the bottom of the popup are so large that the plot region is very small. Would be very nice to be able to re size the popup so that more information is visible. Is there a way?

Thanks,
Patience
