Crash/Hang Problem

O has always crashed fairly often, on the various machines I've used it on, which has not really been a big problem. But now I can't get O to run at all -- hangs every time, and I get this message:

Problem Event Name: BEX
Application Name: CrashSender1402.exe
Application Version: 1.4.0.2
Application Timestamp: 55345db4
Fault Module Name: StackHash_5861
Fault Module Version: 0.0.0.0
Fault Module Timestamp: 00000000

Exception Code: c0000005
Exception Data: 00000008
OS Version: 6.3.9600.2.0.0.768.101
Locale ID: 1033
Additional Information 1: 5861

Any clue what this is about? Should I downgrade to the previous version?

Re: Crash/Hang Problem

Dockhead....

You should be able to get OCPN restarted from scratch by temporarily moving or renaming the opencpn.ini file found in your "Program Data" folder.

If this works, then we would be interested in studying your existing opencpn.ini file, to see what is going on.

Good Luck
Dave

Re: Crash/Hang Problem

I would suggest finding opencpn.ini and copy and save as opencpn.ini.old. Then delete opencpn.ini and restart opencpn.
You will have to reset all of your settings. Use a text reader to view opencpn.ini.old settings.

There is probably some corrupted setting in the file.
