It would be very good to do the calculations in Excel, starting just from basic geographic data about waypoints - it is easier then to modify the route later on.
Until some
passage planning tool is built into OCPN, one might use e.g. Raytech 6.0 (free demo - full function but without instruments). Clumsy as it is, it does import/export routes in Excel and flat text format.
At this point, I am wondering, what is needed to turn Route Properties into
Passage Plan. I think it would be for each routepoint:
- arrival time, rest time, departure time (possibly rest time = 0, so arrival=departure)
- tides state for arrival/departure time (e.g. HW slack)

fuel and
water tanks fill state (assumed
consumption /h motoring /day)
- assumed speed for each leg
- save/printout capability
The values (e.g. times/dates) would be calculated from assumed defaults or set explicitly at chosen locations.
would be nice...
