Re: Compiling OCPN on Windows (VS 2010)

It is not necessary, unless you want to build OpenCPN in debug mode.

Re: Compiling OCPN on Windows (VS 2010)

Ok, after building both release and debug wxWidgets, and cleaning and recompiling OCPN, it builds ok - but it won't run.

I get a notice saying "The program can't start because wxbase28ud_vc_custom.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."

I am trying to run from the "Debug" directory. I have copied the uidata etc files as specified, though clearly this is not related to that but to a missing dll.

Obviously this is one of the DLLs in the git repo wxWidgets dir. But how do I make OCPN (or cmake?) recognise it?

Forgive me if I'm being stupid here; I don't use Windows much and have never compiled software on Windows before.

Re: Compiling OCPN on Windows (VS 2010)

Re: Compiling OCPN on Windows (VS 2010)

Caesar...
Two options here. Either copy the DLLs from C:\wxWidgets-2.8.12\lib\vc_dll to the build directory where opencpn.exe is, or add C:\wxWidgets-2.8.12\lib\vc_dll back to the PATH (Probably better)
And don't forget to copy the data files as per the instructions, otherwise you will get an error on startup.
