Re: COG vs Heading in OpenCPN 5.0

Juancho, I hope you can sort out the STW sentences, so they work better, if there are any other questions or help needed, please do not hesitate to ask. I should not have been so direct with you earlier.

Re: COG vs Heading in OpenCPN 5.0

I managed to sort out my issue ...
In fact, there were two bugs with the NMEA simulator.
The GPS simulated sentences were following heading instead of COG, and the VHW sentence was badly formatted with two commas on the 7th position ...
I got a corrected release. I did not think about a problem with the simulator at the very beginning ... shame on me !

Thank all for your support to a beginner with OCPN !

Re: COG vs Heading in OpenCPN 5.0

Is this Ron's nmea simulator that you were using?

If so, thank for being a beta tester!
If you continue to test this pi, please post your reports in his thread for that plugin.

It really does help us providing better context.

Hope you will continue to test it!

Re: COG vs Heading in OpenCPN 5.0

Are you speaking about ShipDriver ?
I tried ShipDriver but I was looking for a simulator with the possibility to set currents.
I am using the one from Kave Oy
