Great! I think that completes the Danube.

I'll add the link to my page this evening and check to see if that gets all sections.

I also mailed you with additional links for the Sava and Drava that flow into the Danube.
Only Ukraine is missing

Here's another approach to Slovakian Danube charting:

gaea..

Great ENC maps thanks,all installed perfectly. Using the OpenStreetMap Mapnik ver. in my previous mail as a background makes it easier to select the ENC sections. CM92 takes a lot of zooming in and difficult to find the ENC sections.
Try it!

hi Marco - I downloaded the NZ charts and have 7zip but dont seem to be able to extract them. Message comes up saying "not a valid 7z archive file". I'm on Win 7 32 bit and havent had a problem with any other charts (especially Sinbad's last two - Thanks S!)

Am I doing something wrong?

Cheers, Tony

Hello. I don't know what is the issue. Maybe a corrupted download (can you check MD5?). You can try to dowload the file again. I'll try to download it to double check (but I cannot do it now).

Anyway this is the link to the web page (just in case...):

MCE66 - Software

Ciao, Marco.

I receive AIS targets from the Donau in the Wienna region but had no maps as the CM92 shows just a beige blank.

Here is a calibrated .kap OpenStreet map of the area:

Does anybody know where I can download free ENC maps for the German part of the Donau?

Tore

Hello.

Yesterday I tried to download the NewZealandNauticalCharts_V26.7z file and I succeded.

The process is: click on the link (Deposit File page will open), click on Free Downloading, wait 60 seconds, click download. In 15/30 minutes you should have the file.

MD5 is a way to check the integrity of the file (i.e. to check if the file you downloaded is identical to the one I uploaded). To verify MD5 go to MD5 GUI for Windows and download MD5.exe. Now double click on md5.exe, click on "Generate Checksum" and drag-&-Drop the file you downloaded in the md5 window. The MD5 Hash of the file you have downloaded will be computed and shown. You can now compare the MD5 of your file with the MD5 that I put on my download page (Free New Zealand Nautical Charts). If the 2 MD5 match the file you have is identical to the one I uploaded. Otherwise it is corrupted.

For your convenience the MD5 shoud be: 388534343a3859b48ea17c09de76717c

After then, you can download the V26 to V27 upgrade (NewZealandNauticalCharts_Upgrade_V26_up_to_V27.7z) file using the same procedure (you have to wait 1 hour for the free download).

For your convenience the MD5 of this second file shoud be: 248ffd1fd409722d9eba324fafa23f1a

Ciao, Marco.

I am glad to see new zealand is finally available, but we need a better host, and also a plugin for opencpn to auto-download charts.

Also maybe we could have it import them from openstreet map, or somehow capture satellite imagery data and import it.

Does anyone have a server that can host chart data? We really just need a host for bittorrent seed files so bandwidth would be low, but it would be nice to have the whole world available for anyone to download electronic charts without any cost.

I am halfway through doing some charts of a lot of the pacific, but low detail (3500000:1) I am using tif2bsb, but I can do all the color conversions in gimp, it needs to be in indexed mode of course.

That's incredibly helpful stuff Marco....Many thanks! You learn something new every day (MDF5 in my case!).

I'll let you know how I get on but am in the middle of prepping for a trip to UK so might not be able to get it done for a few weeks. Tony

Vienna is in Austria by the way...

New Zealand Charts, CHARTCAL-V28, September 2010

Hello. Here is the new version of New Zealand Charts Portfolio for you. Changes from V27 to V28 involve many old maps and other new maps have been added so now NZ portfolio contains 324 maps . These are the details:

LINZ released a new version of some chart images.

* NZ43
* NZ46
* NZ72
* NZ86 (plans NZ86_1 to NZ86_9 are DELETED)
* NZ443
* NZ463
* NZ615
* NZ827
* NZ865 (plans NZ865_1 to NZ865_6 are DELETED)
* NZ4432_1
* NZ4432_2
* NZ6142_1
* NZ6142_2
* NZ7142_1
* NZ7142_2
* NZ8275 (plan NZ8275_1 is DELETED)

LINZ released new charts. Related KAP charts have been generated.

* NZ822
* NZ8225
* NZ8277 (substitude the NZ8275_1)
* NZ864 (with new NZ865 substitute NZ865_1)
* NZ864_1 (substitute NZ865_5)
* NZ8645_1 (substitute NZ865_6)
* NZ8645_2 (substitute NZ865_3)
* NZ861_1 (substitute NZ865_4)
* NZ861_2 (substitute NZ86_8)
* NZ861_3 (substitute NZ86_2)
* NZ861_4 (substitute NZ86_1)
* NZ861_5 (substitute NZ86_9)
* NZ861_6 (substitute NZ86_7)
* NZ861_7 (substitute NZ865_2)
* NZ861_8 (substitute NZ86_5)
* NZ861_9 (substitute NZ86_6)
* NZ861_10 (substitute NZ86_3)
* NZ861_11 (substitute NZ86_4)

Please, substitute/rebuild those charts if you have old versions. Note that the whole set of old NZ86_*.KAP, NZ865_*.KAP and NZ8275_1.KAP shall be deleted since are now obsolete.

If you want all upgrades above, download the new ChartCal-V28.zip ( MCE66 - Software ) and rebuild with KapGen all the changed/new charts (but first delete the tif files of the above list of maps from /Img folder if you have already downloaded or built them).

Of course you can also just download the full set of charts already built NewZealandNauticalCharts_V28.7z you can find at the same location ( MCE66 - Software ) I decided to release the full set instead of an upgrade since the change to the portfolio cannot be handled by a simple chart file substitution.

Let me know. Ciao, Marco.
