Strange chart, it actually shows up in certain zoom-levels when activating quilt-mode, but not otherwise. I'll check more later.

Kermit - I looked thru the header info and see that you only used two calibration points. For Mercator projections, that theoretically could be enuf, but have you tried using at least 4?

Also, the projection on the chart is described as European Data; but the header info in the .kap says WGS84. Again, not sure if this is the problem, but you might try setting the datum field to European 1979 and see.

Cagney - you mentioned quilt mode. I'm just starting up in OpenCPN and wiching it had quilt mode - how can I activate that? I know I must be missing something.

thanks

I converted the chart to a tif. Geo referenced this my normal way(by hand with gimp), see header/template file below, and produced a new kap file, that ..... behaves well(with a very quick test) . Compared to the original I have used 4 REF:s, one in each corner. Notice the difference in PLY values. PP & SD are set to correct values and "European 1979" is used instead of WGS84.

All about quilting in the new Beta thread, but shortly, check Tools=>Settings. Tick quilting box and chart types to use in quilting, or use F9 to switch between quilting and non quilting.

I don't know exactly what you are doing, but you are certainly not using the headerfile I attached to my last post. Just use my headerfile and your original tif file as arguments to tif2bsb. The produced kap file should work.

The file size of your published charts has gone from 27 mb to 14 mb and now the last one is down to about 1 mb, without much obvious change in quality.

That is great!
When doing small changes to a chart, it is necessary to tick the box "Force Full Database Rebuild" in the chart tab, for the changes to show. Maybe you don't know about this....

CHARTCAL-V25

Hello. Here is new version of New Zealand Charts Portfolio for you. Changes from V24 to V25 involve 20 maps:

NZ2862_1, NZ2862_2, NZ5214, NZ532, NZ5321, NZ5322, NZ5322_1, NZ5322_2, NZ5323, NZ5323_1, NZ5323_2, NZ5324, NZ55, NZ55_1, NZ561, NZ6154_1, NZ6154_2, NZ6154_3, NZ14605, NZ14900

Reason of change is that LINZ on April 7th, 20th, 26th has released new versions of above map images (either for reprinting old charts or for adding some Notice To Mariners).

If you want them, download the new ChartCal-V25 ( MCE66 - Software ) and rebuild with KapGen the above charts (first delete the relative tif files from /Img folder if you have alredy built those maps). Or just download the already built charts (Upgrade File) from the link at the same location.

Let me know. Ciao, Marco.

Does somebody knows if there are free charts of the Slowakian part of the danube?
There is a possible website SVP, š.p. , but my Slowak is quite poor, I can only swear and curse in that language...

that website is for the slovak water management and there appear to be no charts on the site.

There are no Slovak charts available for download now. As far as rumors go for the past year or so, they should be available "soon", whatever it means. The fact is the Slovaks are also part of the agreement so the charts should be available under similar conditions as the other IENCs...
