Chart Selection - Buttons - Color key? Colour Key?

I've been using OPEN CPN for a while now (mainly as a backup to main chart plotters, and as a planning tool). Whenever multiple charts/images are applicable to the current view - there are a set of 'buttons' on the bottom that I can use to switch between chart layers.


Some buttons have different colors, and some are solid-filled, others seem to have a specific outline - but I cant see any pattern or make any leaps to a pattern -



Does anyone know if there is a key indicating what the different 'color' buttons actually indicate?

What is not yet reflected in the manual are the mbTiles in magenta

Position the mouse cursor over a button. A pop-up text box will tell you many details about that chart.
