Chart Rotation Plugin: oeSENC charts text wrong place

I just installed the rotation plugin.

Same result as Dave.

To paraphrase...

I cannot reproduce the problem on the following config:

OCPN 4.8.6
Kubuntu 16.04
OpenGL on.
oeSENC Swedish & Danish charts (on the border...)
Rotation Plugin activated, using '[' and ']' keys to rotate the charts manually..

Dave, I don't have s63 charts otherwise I would test for Win10

On macOS (and thus Rot_pi 0.1) and OCPN 4.8.6 no way to rotate with the [] keys, but with the 15º manual rotate yes.

oeSENC and S-57 do rotate correctly but the known bug of the underscores for drying heights.

Screenshots attached:
The first one from the German North Sea is rotated 90º.

The 0.1 mac version of the plug-in crashes when zoomed in, but this is another issue.

As far as I can see for my systems there is no difference for S-63, oeSENC or plain S-57.
Windows and macOS.

There are "strange behavior of texts" mentioned. But not reported...

When using ENC-charts (vector-charts) you might experience some weird behavior when using any other mode than “North up”.

I suspect you are using an out-of-date oesenc plugin, probably Version 2.0.
Please confirm/upgrade to v2.4 from the opencpn.org website, and report results.

There is no problem with the rotation plugin, seems to work fine.
In fact, this versatile plugin is not needed for simply testing OCPN rotation logic. One can use the '[' and ']' keys for testing rotation by adding to the config file:

[Settings]
EnableRotateKeys=1

Is there a way to prevent [Enter] or carriage return from causing dropping of a marker, while still Ctrl-M will drop a mark?


Some users have noticed this.


PS: Or should we include Enter as a shortcut key for the Drop a Mark Shortcut on the Keyboard Shortcut Page?

Yes, i was using oeSENC 2.0 on my home laptop.
Was away with te boat today, and computer on the boat did not have the problem....it has the latest plugin
