After installing the Chart Object Search Plugin in opencpon 4.8.4. it is not able to build up a base with search items of the charts.
(opencpn is installed at a W10 machine)
Also the geografic box wich can be fill in is always resetted to 0's

Can not reproduce. What is the type of your charts and what exactly you do?

It is not supposed to remember the previous values, but your request to implement this makes sense. Will do it for the next release.

Can't promise anything, I will have to check whether the licensing terms under which o-charts.org gets the charts from the HOs permit me to implement this functionality or not.

Re: Chart Object Search Plugin

Hope you don't mind me jumping on this thread but I have the same issue when using ENC charts from O Charts using OpenCPN 4.8.4 and windows 10.

Before anybody flames me, no I do not know how to use code.

If I search for an object I get a message saying there is a problem with the database and check the OpenCPN logfile for more information.

If I try and populate the database using the tab and enter a latitude of 051.30 or 051 30 when I then move to Longitude, the lat value changes to -80.

Any suggestions on what I am doing wrong please?

Thanks

Re: Chart Object Search Plugin

Steve,

the oeSENC charts are licensed and hence encrypted charts.
Same as the S-63 charts

And the plug-in cannot deal with the encrypted chart objects.
