chart downloader issue

Hi all,
I'm new to OpenCPN and I'm having an issue downloading charts.
I'm running OpenCPN 5.6.2 on a Mac but using the Windows version running through Parallels.
My issue is that when I try to download charts I get the error message "Failed to download catalog. verify there is a working internet connection." I know that I have an internet connection because Microsoft Edge is working fine. Any ideas?

I don't have a Mac but the only time I've seen that message was when I did not have a working Internet connection.

And why you don't use the Mac version on your Mac but the Windows version with Parallels?
