Caribbean Chart Suggestions for Open CPN

Im looking for suggestions on electronic charts for the caribbean and bahamas to use with Open CPN. I have a version of CM93 but I am uncertain as to its update status and am generally suspect of CM93 charts. I am not against buying electronic charts especially ones I can feel good about the accuracy of and ones I can update.

I do have a new garmin chip of the Caribbean and I wonder if I by using a garmin card reader somehow get those charts into Open CPN?

Garmin charts will not work in OpenCPN. The world would be a nicer place if all vendors just went ahead and used S57, but they tend to want to hold on to their customers
