Can't print route properties

I've searched the manual and the forum, can't find the answer to this one.
  • I open route properties
  • [Print Route] opens "Print Route Selection"
  • [OK] opens usual print dialogue and my printer is listed
  • [Print] gets me "Open CPN There was a problem printing. Perhaps your printer is not set correctly?"
The printer is definitely on the network because I can see it in the "Printers & Devices", and I have successfully printed tests from other programs/apps on the computer, no problem.

Windows 7 PC

OpenCPN 4.8.4

Thanks

If I remember correct there was some issues printing routes on OCPN ver 4.8.4 but it was long time ago so I may be wrong here. I tested a print out in latest O ver. 5.0 and it works.
You may try to use the present version of OCPN instead. I could be some work more that installing a new OCPN though. All plugins not included in OCPN itself have to be updated as well.

Re: Can't print route properties

Håkan,

Thank you so much for your help, I really appreciate it.

I will stop fighting the printing problem and I will upgrade to OCPN 5.0 as soon as possible. Right now we have a hardware problem and I think I'll get that fixed first and make sure everything is back to normal, and then upgrade. If I cannot print from OCPN 5.0 then I will know it's my computer or Windows 7 that is causing the difficulty.

Best wishes,

Michael

Re: Can't print route properties

OK, I updated to 5.2.4 and I can print.
But the formatting of the columns is such that the names I have allocated to waypoints is condensed so much they are unreadable.
I know that a right click offers the option to "Copy all as text" and paste into a spreadsheet or text document - but my charts are protected and this seems to prevent me from doing this (I get a flag "Copying data in OpenCPN disabled due to use of protected data").
Is there any other work-around?
The image shows what my printed routes look like.
