My O-Charts for Blind Bay have same detail as CHS raster... just need to blow it up (and thus hard to show full screenshot).

Re: Canadian oeSENC charts for OpenCPN
As noted, CHS is doing a phased discontinuation of its raster charts. As replacement for the discontiued raster charts, CHS has just now provided me with the complete set of CHS Vector charts for the area.
Comparing OSENC vector with CHS ENC vector, the charts are identical!

Yup! Quite the surprise... for the discontinued raster charts.

Re: Canadian oeSENC charts for OpenCPN
This is FANTASTIC - I just purchased the Canadian Pacific chart set. The process was smidge bit convoluted, but it worked flawlessly. Charts are now installed and accessible.
A HUGE shout out to everyone revolving around OpenCPN that made this HPN !! (happen)

Great! Just note that CHS ENC (vector) and thus ocharts is missing key info for the Haida Gwaii, as well as Sea Otter Cove (NW top of Vancouver Island). Not an issue if not going to West Coast of Haida Gwaii, Masset Inlet, or Sea Otter Cove. [The missing info is on older CHS raster charts (which are in the CHS Raster sets), as well as commercial charts such as Navionics and CMAP.]

Can someone with the Great Lakes o-charts tell me if the Trent-Severn mapset (CEN-09) is part of that collection.

No those waters are not (yet) available in ENC format - raster only. As CHS is discontinuing raster charts, there should be some migration in place, but only CHS knows, when this will happen.
You can ask them, in case.

Re: Canadian oeSENC charts for OpenCPN
As to updating charts, look at the data date for Little Harbor Deep.
1893
Great Harbor Deep/Orange Bay is even better.
Around here that data is not to be ignored.

Re: Canadian oeSENC charts for OpenCPN
Just to make it clear:
those are the Canadian RNCs, the raster charts.
The oeSENC charts are the vector ENCs.
Where the data for the ENCs come from, that would be the questions for CHS...

Re: Canadian oeSENC charts for OpenCPN
Certainly, there are still some CHS charts with very old "source" data. Note, however, that subsequent "corrections" to such charts are still modern.
At least here on the west coast, CHS is regularly retiring (replacing) old charts (with old source data) and replacing them with new charts with new source data.
Of course, CHS is also in the process of discontinuing specific individual RASTER charts, replacing them with ENC/Vector charts. I've long been a raster chart proponent, but I've grown to now prefer CHS vector over CHS raster (much to my surprise).
O-Charts oesenc Canadian vector charts are identical (in content and appearance) to official CHS Vector charts... but at a much much better price. I've had the opportunity this summer to compare both CHS and Ocharts for the whole (!) BC coast. Recommended!
