Re: Beta Test / Technical

Found the tric, rename it to HARMONICS_NO_US and HARMONICS_NO_US.IDX
Why was this done?

I just tested on my A v8.2 O v5.6.2 and I could add H....IDX as usual by Options->Charts->Tides and Current-> "Add file" ( Use the .IDX file!)
You can copy own files to any directory and add them. On A v11 and up it may be you have to use OpenCPN's "own" directories. (android/data/...OpenCPN/...

Re: Beta Test / Technical

Hello guys,

Made the test of Statusbar 0.7.20.0

Ship %02A %2.4B %D %02E %2.4F %H SOG %.2I COG %03J %02O %2.4P %R %02S %2.4T %V %03W %.1X Scale %Z

Are other options available? Where are they described if any: did not succeeded to find them.

Display is giving Ship 88 88.8888 N 88 88.8888 E SOC COG 43 P N 88 88.8888 E 888° 44,9 Nds Scale 888888 (1.8x)

I think there is an issue with the display of 888°
Is-this linked to my Windows11 or to the French (Belgium) config of my machine?

I think there is an issue with the display of Nds which is for me a measure of speed, not a measure of distance (Nm). These parameters should be accessible in OpenCPN but I did not found how to change them. Same "error" in default OCPN status bar. This should be customisable.

I would also like an improvement replacing (parameter maybe) 88 88.8888 N by 88°88.8888 N or other formats possible.

Hope it help.

Best regards,
Raoul RICHARD

I have already reported this issue with this correction so it should be fine for the next release:

Great.

Do you think relevant to review all the standard units and propose the correct translations for French.

Like SOG which is "Vitesse fond" or "Vf"
We should normally do it if we want a real "French" OpenCPN.

Just a suggestion of course. Ready to work on it

Best regards,
Raoul

I would even go up to suggest an option to select the language of the units we want to see as for a lot of us, our electronic equipments don't allow all the time to have the units in French.
Having the choice in OpenCPN would be great.

Best regards,
Raoul

You need to bookmark the Plugins Manual found from opencpn.org, or from the Opencpn Manual index. It is all explained there. Make new issues under each plugin's repositories for RFE requests for enhancement, or use Tracker, also found from opencpn.org

BUG: Android version cannot move or resize dashboard

Hello Dave,

I have just purchased the Android version and installed on my RPI4 Android it seems to work fine although not quite worked out how to enable my o-carts download.

Anyway this is about the Dashboard plugin it cannot be moved or resized on the screen. I am using an external screen keyboard and mouse. See image attached. It stays there on the screen and I cannot find a way to move it or resize it.

It is the same problem with the AIS RADAR Plugin that seems to be unr responsive to all input and cannot be resized.

Cheers
Spart

Re: Beta Test / Technical

@bdbcat Can you assist with the above Android issue. As it is unusable at present due to the dashboard issues.

Spart...
I personally have not experimented with Android on rPi, so have no direct experience with operating OpenCPN for Android with mouse and keyboard. I am not at all surprised that there are some anomalies.

If you want to experiment further, you may hand edit the OpenPCN config file to fix the location and size of the Dashboard. The sentence is:

[AUI]
AUIPerspective=layout2|name=ChartCanvas;caption=;s tate=768;dir=5;layer=0;row=0;pos=0;prop=100000;bes tw=5;besth=5;minw=144;minh=1002;maxw=-1;maxh=-1;floatx=-1;floaty=-1;floatw=-1;floath=-1|name=DASH_364c4a40-13f1-44d5-9abb-db9d3bbf73ab;caption=Dashboard;state=2098115;dir=4 ;layer=0;row=0;pos=0;prop=100000;bestw=233;besth=4 61;minw=233;minh=461;maxw=-1;maxh=-1;floatx=100;floaty=100;floatw=233;floath=461|dock_size(5,0,0)=146|

The bold text above shows where the size and location of the Dashboard are specified.

Good Luck
Dave

Someone is selling a OpenCPN Android app which I bought. Ho do we get that fixed?

Thank you for the above I will try later on today when I get on board if I can find the config file (opencpn.ini ?) and work out how to edit it on Android!

Cheers

Spart..
What's the reason to use Android for a navigator RPi system. The Android aim seems to get a cheap TV viewer or similar. I looked here.

A functional cruiser system would be to run a OpenPlotter image instead?
