Auto name waypoint as date

Hey all,

New user opencpn here coming from Nobeltec. I really do like the software and just trying to get use to it.

Is there any way a waypoint can be auto named the date? Currently when I press CTRL+O right now, it places a mark at the boat, but no name. In nobeltec there is an option to have this mark be the current date (2/25/17). I know that I will have many waypoints with the exact same name but this is not an issue because they are tide to the GUID.

The best practise for asking a new functionnality is by using Tracket/Flyspray (see a the right handside of the official Opencpn Page.

You will have to create an account, browse thru Tracker-Flyspray forum to gather more information.
