Anyone use Garmin GLO or GPS 18x USB

Has anyone using MacBook Pro with El Capitan had any success hooking up GPS for OpenCPN 4.8.4 using either a Garmin GLO bluetooth or USB GPS receiver? Or could you tell me what you use? Any advice will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

So I've been able to solve my GPS problem using a Maptech USB GPS antenna receiver, BBA-USBGPSMT. One has to use the latest version of Prolific chip set driver, the Maptech GPS utility is outstanding determining if the basic connection works, and to get OpenCPN to finally recognize the GPS signal, I discovered by looking in both my system and Opencpn log files that I need to add the Watchdog plug in. Once added, OpenCPN grabbed the GPS signal and I'm ready for water/sea trials. Thanks to all who shared their experience. I hope this info will help others install this great navigation program!
