2 - Here are pointers to raster and vector charts for Antarctica outside the Peninsula, eventhough I doubt whether a
single sailboat a year aims at those
parts...
Many countries have published charts of the Antarctic coasts (see first pic), including
Russia that has no 'claim' on
parts of the continent, but large scale ones are mostly restricted to the vicinity of the numerous scientific bases that are (or were) manned since the 50's.
As far as vector charts are concerned, CM93 V2 on OpenCpn do not fare badly, although the Russian charts are sketchy at best. I have not seen the official S63 charts from e.g. Primar or Chartworld (also on OpenCpn, with the plugin) but they should be good value for
money
But the
cheap Transas charts (iSailor) on ipad is IMHO the best (and most convenient) set available.
It may come as a surprise that many RASTER charts are available:
Nobody has yet mentioned that LINZ (kiwi hydro service) offers free kap charts viewable on Opencpn for the area devoted to them. The
single Brazilian kap chart (DHN) has already be mentioned by Pavel (Nohal).
But the vast majority are available on Ipad in Weather4D 2.0, a former grib viewer turned into a complete nav app. These charts are provided by the French venture Geogarage, that offers the full complement of Australian (AHS), UK (UKHO) and French (SHOM) raster charts (as well as LINZ)
see
https://www.geogarage.com/fr_FR/page/catalog for the coverage and pic: UKHO is blue and note the coverage of the Peninsula).
It is an obvious drawback that you have to buy the entire country packages (about 50 € each) to access the few antarctic charts.
This
price tag is for a yearly subscription, and the download cache of the app is limited to 1 GB (which should be large enough)
Here are a few examples of large scale raster charts (courtesy of Geogarage for my beta testing)
Finally, I make no claim at completeness. This is what I am aware of at this moment
