Android gps to windows 10 OpenCPN via bluetooth

Has anyone successfully read gps positions in OpenCPN running on windows 10 from an Android phone via bluetooth ?

My Open CPN runs on my inexpensive Asus ultrabook with win10. Rather than buying an unknown gps transmitter, i would like to simply transmit my android's gps data to my computer...

Yes I have a long time ago, look in supplementary hardware section of the wiki.
The phone GPS depletes the phone rather quickly, so you'll want to plug it in.
There are certain Apps that I found better than others, detailed on the page, but things may have changed since then.
