Anchor Alarm audio

I'm trying to add a euro-siren alarm to my anchor watch... the only sound files OC comes with are the ships bells. They work well but I want something.. custom. I downloaded a nice .wav file but it plays with major distortion and does not cancel. I end up having to reboot the entire pi?
Are there differences between wav files?
THANKS ALL for any insight!

Re: Anchor Alarm audio

There is a bunch of.wav files collected under police category on the web. Google is your friend, we like the general quarters off the Canadian frigate HMS Halifax. That will rouse outa bunk... You may prefer others.

What OS are you running? Where can we download the .wav file that is causing problems? Maybe I can debug and find the cause.
