AIS Test Alert Sound - Nothing Is Heard

Tremendous piece of software. Many thanks to the developers and testers.

I am unable to test the AIS alert sound. There's a good entry for a wav file in opencpn.conf. I hear the wav file play OK on both the internal and an external speaker when played from the desktop.

FWIW, I renamed a wav file so it didn't match the AISAlertAudioFile entry and no error appeared when clicking the Test Alert Sound button in the AIS tab of the toolbox.

I didn't see a fix mentioned in the 2.x.x release notes or anything in the forum.

EeePC 900a
Eeebuntu EB4 (beta)
OpenCPN 1.3.9

Thanks in advance

I now have openCPN 2.1.0 520a on my EeePC 900a running Eeebuntu 3.0 (EB3.0) and the AIS alert sound is heard.
(I had trouble compiling 2.1.0 on EB4.0 so I dropped back to EB3.0.)

Sometimes the sound works for me on OpenCPN, sometimes not. I have tried to pinpoint what is going on.
When first booting up and starting Ocpn, the sound always works.
Later after using some flash based website radioplayer, there is no sound in ocpn."top", reveals that, a pulseaudio process is still an active left-over from the web-radio, even though the player is killed and that page is not loaded. This process obviously blocks opencpn audio.
Quote:
pulseaudio -k
takes care of this, and opencpn audio(alarms) once again works. Now, if I once again want to listen to web radio I have to restart firefox.
Quote:
pulseaudio -nC
shows that pulseaudio is still running, but obviously the web-radio application is unable to reset itself and connect
I have not yet come up with exactly what's going on.....

Testing gives the same result for my old box(gnome, kde, xfce) 10.04 and Eeepc 901,Ubuntu NBR 10.4.
