AIS TCP feed "Frisco" is down?

Hello
Does anyone knows about status for the Frisco AIS TCP feed with IP 207.7.148.216? It seems down since I haven't been able to receive any data for a couple of weeks. Or it is due to my connection details. I would appreciate if someone else could have check.
Thanks
Håkan

Re: AIS TCP feed "Frisco" is down?

The site is down:
„Lookup“ was started …

Trying "216.148.7.207.in-addr.arpa"
;; connection timed out; no servers could be reached

This is the result of my network tools. Also "ping" gives no answer.

The other known AIS datasite in Spain (81.44.86.73:6001) seems to be down also.

Gerhard..
Many thanks that confirms my assumption and your tip off the Spanish site could be useful in future, if it comes up again.

Hakan,
googled and found:

hd-sf.com

The last Q&A : port Nr 9009
OCPN:
connections: net hd.sf.com:9009 TCP

Today more than 100 targets.

Greetings

Gnomon..
This forum and the kindly folks supporting each others are really great.
Net address hd-sf.com and port 9009 works fine. Same old Frisco is there again.
Many thanks

The new IP address is: 76.103.90.196 Port 9009 in case a DNS cannot resolve hd-sf.com

CarCode..
Thanks, also work fine and it may make more sense to use the IP instead.
The wiki, data connections, ought to be corrected but I think the present pictures is from Linux so I shouldn't try to mix that up. Cagney??

Cool, Settings > Connections > Add Connection > Network button > TCP with the IP and Port.
Never done this type over the internet. First time I tried it the site was gone. Thanks.

About the Frisco Feed.

I have watched this feed for some time, except lately with the change of ip addresses. I have noticed that hardly any of the moving targets change color to green. I just wonder if the feed is filtered somehow?
Then there are a couple of things that probably have to do with the US implementation of AIS
* No fishing boat ever displays (transmits) "engaged in fishing".
* High speed ferries on the harbor, 25 kts++ never identifies themselves as "high-speed" crafts.

Why?

Our feed shows yellow or orange, I forget, but when you hover it shows boat info.

Yeah, I've noticed that as well. Mostly moored class B are green. But this site it's good enough anyhow for the purpose of testing. Whatever could it be used for?

Re: AIS TCP feed "Frisco" is down?

The data you are getting from the hd-sf site is NMEA AIS, as received off the air. The site gets it's feed from several San Francisco-area receivers, all connected via the internet (one of these receivers is at my place about 40 miles north of San Francisco).

hd-sf *may* do some filtering to eliminate redundant messages, but otherwise this is the same data you would be getting if you had your own receiver on the bay.

The icon color is an OpenCPN issue. And, some vessels are pretty casual about their operational status messages -- again, this has nothing to do with hd-sf.

Actually connects or you just don't get a reject? I haven't heard from this site in a while. Trying now the connection is sitting in SYN_SENT.
