Hmm, maybe it doesn't connect, icon appears on the status bar for a minute or so then disappears. There was another address from Spain which got a reject so I thought this one might be OK.

It seems empty. But if you just want data for test you may try:
ais1.shipraiser.net:6492 showing parts of the Baltic.
But beware there is a GPRMC message included so if you don't want to "move" your ship to the west coast of Sweden you may try to filter the RMC out.

Brilliant, that works, just wanted to see it working. Thanks very much.

Actually, what I really want to do is have a Raspberry Pi down below running Opencpn and spitting out ais data so I can keep an eye on things with a tablet in the cockpit. Which seems feasible now, though maybe not with the Google map overlay if there's no Internet
