Don't do that. This will switch the EV-1 to tracking, and it has no data. Instead switch the plugin to tracking. Push the Tracking button on the plugin or push Auto again (when already in auto) on the control head. The plugin will notice this second auto and switch to Tracking, and start following the active route (make it active before going to tracking).

Good luck, Douwe

Thanks for your follow up.

Sorry but it's probably my English that is poor.

I'm in Auto mode and I push the Auto button on the p70Rs control head (to switch to tracking mode) and nothing happens.

If I push the Tracking button on the Plugin it goes well in Tracking mode.

It's just that :

-1- the p70Rs starts, it is in Standby mode
-2- I push the Auto button on the p70Rs, it goes into Auto mode
-3- I push the Auto button on the p70Rs, nothing happens (it stays in Auto mode)
-4- I push the Tracking button on the Plugin, it goes into Tracking mode.

or another option:

-1- the p70Rs starts, it is in Standby mode
-2- I push the Auto button on the Plugin, it switches to Auto mode and the P70Rs head also switches to Auto mode
-3- I push the Auto button on the p70Rs, nothing happens (it stays in Auto mode)
-4- I push the Tracking button on the Plugin, it goes into Tracking mode.

And indeed if I push the Track button on the p70Rs head it switches to Track mode but as it has no data it immediately displays a No Data message.

The only thing wrong is switching from Auto mode to Tracking mode by pushing the Auto button on the Control Head.

Everything else seems to be working fine to me. It's a very nice program.

Yves

Re: About the AutoTrackRaymarine Plugin

Hi Douwe,
I don't know why but now it's working as you said.
I was perhaps distracted by the fact that on the control head the message Auto does not change to Traking when the Plugin switches to Tracking mode. It still shows Auto for me.
Thank you very much for this program which I will be installing on the boat shortly.
I will keep you informed as soon as it is definitely on the way.
Thank you again.

Nice to hear that this works well with you.
Just for your understanding, the autopilot does not know that the plugin is tracking, for the autopilot it is just Auto. The plugin does the tracking by sending the autopilot a new heading when needed, normally small corrections every second. But the autopilot just stays in Auto.

Douwe,
Eveything works perfect.
Just one question :

I push on auto on the control head for the second time and the plugin switch to tracking. It's OK.

But, in this situation, if I push again on the auto on the control head, does the plugin return in auto mode or he stays in tracking ?

To go back in auto I just turn the rotary switch, that's OK or I go in stdby and just after in auto... It's also OK.

TY in advance.

Yves

Re: About the AutoTrackRaymarine Plugin

Any time you push Auto on the control head when in auto the plugin will go to or remain in Tracking. However when you push any + or - it will go to Auto in the new heading. Or push Standby followed by Auto.

Re: About the AutoTrackRaymarine Plugin

Hello Douwe,
Hello everybody,
I take some time to confirm that the system is fully operational.
Douwe, you saved my life. I trace the path on the screen before leaving and then I can leave the harbor with my boat. I then start the tracking and I no longer take care of the helm until I arrive at the next harbor.
It is magic.
Thank you for this plugin that greatly facilitates my trip.
There was a great deal of hardware installation to place the autopilot in the boat. But afterwards the software part was done very easily.
I highly recommend to anyone who has a Raymarine Evolution.
I remain available if anyone wants additional information.
Yves (very happy)

Re: About the AutoTrackRaymarine Plugin

Yves, thanks for the positive feedback, often one will only get reactions when things don't work.

For other potential users: the current version of the plugin will only work on Windows in combination with an Actisense NGT-1. I am currently testing a new version that will use the nmea2000 functionality of the new OpenCPN 5.8.4, this version will work with all supported nmea2000 controllers on all platforms. I will let you know on the forum when this version is available. But in all cases the autopilot has to be a Raymarine Evolution pilot.

Re: About the AutoTrackRaymarine Plugin

There are compiled versions for all opencpn supported OS but windows (which fails) on Cloudsmith opencpn repository under Autotrackraymarine-alpha.
These are for testing.

Thanks RGleason
I’m going to experiment with it on my ev100. Hopefully I can get it working

Re: About the AutoTrackRaymarine Plugin

Hi Douwe,
I had the plug-in working fine on O 5.8.2 on Windows 11.
I have now updated to 5.8.4 and also installed the latest plug-in version 18.20.0.
The plug-in has stopped working, in the preferences dialog there is no longer a choice for COM port. Looks like there is no communication to the Actisense any more.
Any thoughts on this?

Kind regards, Fred.

Re: About the AutoTrackRaymarine Plugin

This is the new version. The NGT-1 is now controlled by OpenCPN. Go to options / connections. Add a connection with nmea2000, then select there the com port of your NGT-1. All will function as before. But the NGT-1 can also be used for other services.
