I just bought a chrome book for USD 120. Not fancy by today’s standards. 4gig ram 16 gig flash 2.4 G celeron dual
core.
I set up Crostini and got the
Linux bit going.
Followed the build instructions and
OpenCPN is up and running.
Performance is just fine.
Crostini does not support USB yet (close apparently ) but
WiFi is my plan.
The build scripts took about two hours to run. Maybe longer than a
Linux kernel build on the same machine but I don’t plan to do that.
possibly running in the Crostini VM with limited ram made it slow. That’s ok.
Not hard to do and error free.
Many thanks to all of the community.
