4.8 open GL and intel? Moving Forward??

Hi everyone,

I recently updated to 4.8. I am having issues with open GL and the intel graphics (as a few others are too) 4.8 works better if I turn off Open GL but i need the Open GL for the Navico radar plugin.

I read that this is most likely a probem with the intel graphics drivers...(which is annoying because open GL and open CPN ran perfectly on 4.4)

Anyway.. What is the best option for moving forward. The PC i am using is pretty high spec google Aleutia R50. Its a Passively Cooled Intel® 6th Generation Core™ i5-6260U 14nm Dual Core 1.8GHz Hyper Threaded, Turbo Frequency 2.9GHz with 16 G ram.

Is there fixes for the intel drivers? should i install some 3rd party goodies?

My laptop is much earlier generation than your PC but I have had problems with Windows 10 updates, including Creator, replacing the Intel drivers with a rubbish generic s/w emulation. I have restored my Intel drivers from the Intel website and in my case I have to revert to W7 drivers that run perfectly well under W10.

I doubt your problems are to do with Ocpn 4.4>4.8 and more to do with Windows.

Hey Dave,

The problem is with o not responding on zooming.
It will load ok but if I try to zoom into an anchorage or zoom out it freezes up and I have to close O with task manager.

OK Progresssssss...

I updated the GPU drivers today. Happy days, 4.8 is running real nice now.

Only problem i have to figure out is that half my plug-ins have gone....

OK, All sorted. the parralell install of 4.4 and 4.8 was causing the plugin issue
