4.4 Windows version download .exe file not working

Hello,

I tried twice to download the latest stable 4.4 version from the Home page (not the left side) and both times the exe program wouldn't run. See the attached screenshot - error message starts by saying the Installer Integrity Check has failed. Anyone else not able to download and run this file?

This usually indicates that the download did not get all of the .exe file. Can you try this link?

Thanks for tying to help. Still no luck. Same error message came up after downloading and trying to run the exe file from your link. Hmmm... must be something on my end. It's not related to an anti-virus program or permissions, etc. I will have to study this one. It certainly acts like the file is corrupt. I wonder if anyone has had any luck with those download sites in the last few days....

I just downloaded from the link above on a computer that has never had OpenCPN and it worked just fine. It is possible that anti-virus is at work or that you have a virus. The latter seems plausible. Some virus software will try to attach itself to the end of a .exe file hoping no one will notice. The NSIS installer checks to see if the file is "intact" and this check might be an indication of a virus. But it's really hard to tell from here.

You could also compare the SHA256 of the file you downloaded and the one on the downloads page to make sure they are the same.
Use virustotal.com and pick "Choose File" and browse to the file you downloaded.
