Yes, I would say so. You are crossing some major shipping channels there, did you sleep? I think solo sailing to Bermuda from Norfolk would be safer

Re: What's the longest you've been continuously at sea
60 days from Pagan Island north of Guam in the Marianas, to California. With crew.
43 days solo Panama to Hilo Hawaii.
I think solo in the Pacific is okay, I wouldn't do it by choice in the Carib or Atlantic coast of the USA. Just too many contacts at all hours, when would you sleep?

Re: What's the longest you've been continuously at sea
Seven days, three times transatlantic -- but on the Queen Mary 2 so that doesn't count I know. One crossing was freakishly flat calm the whole way, surface like glass; one time was average; one time was one of the roughest crossings the QM2 has done so far.

Re: What's the longest you've been continuously at sea
I am a bit surprised how many have done long passages, and a fair few solo.
Anything a week or thereabouts and more is a good passage.
I might just bookmark this thread.
Next question ought to be how many days upwind? Lolol i did 14 days upwind solo from Key West to St Martin last year... And up the Red Sea with Nicolle on 2010... I think that was about a week... And was a continuation without stopping of 6 days from Oman.
I think i have right never to go upwind again. Lol

Re: What's the longest you've been continuously at sea
21 days Neah Bay WA to Lahaina HI. Spent a day hove-to to let the hurricane well south of us get ahead. Weather forecast was trying to decide whether the hurricane was actually going to hit Hawaii or not.
Trip back starting from Kauai was only 19 days. Cracked off just enough from close hauled to not pound too often (Cal 34) in the trades. When we got close to the westerlies, the high slid north of us leaving us becalmed for about a day, then instead of the westerlies we now sailed approx. east close hauled on the other tack until the last couple of days out. So nearly the entire trip close hauled.

No boredom for me..

That beats a windless (first half) Panama to Hawaii by far. Sounds fantastic.

"37 days Panama to Papeete. Single handing I start talking to myself in less than half a day."
dana-tenacity, it took you that long to start talking to yourself? I do that continuously, at sea or home.
GILow - You get the plastic 2 gallon bucket for an emergency bilge pump.
To date, my longest solo passage was 800 nm from Sitka to Homer, Alaska, across the gulf of Alaska. I have commercial fished solo for a longer periods of time, but I didn't cover more than about 500 nm on those trips.
