Moving a Contour 34 from USVI to the states
I have a Contour 34 trimaran located in the USVI and need to move it to Florida or Baltimore. I brought it down by borrowing a custom Contour trailer over ten years ago. I would like to rent someone's trailer. I will have to ship it down on Tropical or other shipping and then bring the boat back and haul by road and then return the trailer.
Looking to either rent or purchase a contour 34 trailer.
Thanks.
John

Why not sail it from USVI to Florida or Baltimore?

Re: Moving a Contour 34 from USVI to the states
Sails blew off in a storm. I have not used the boat in several years and so it needs some tlc. I thought it might be best to do that back here in Virginia. If I could just get some dependable help in the VI to take care of sails and some other things I would either keep the boat down there or pay someone to sail it here.

There is an active Contour 34 community on yahoo groups.
When you replace the sails, put a post up there and I'm sure you'll get many suggestions on where to buy them, where they have measurements already in their computers. You could likely find some crew there too, cause you don't want just anyone sailing that type of performance tri that far.
You could always buy sails and bring them down to the VI, or ship them.

Re: Moving a Contour 34 from USVI to the states
Thanks for the note and sorry this took so long. Been torn between trying to get help with repairs in the VI and getting the boat back to the states. I have had help getting things in order down in the VI so for now I will leave it there. Did you by chance tell me that you had a couple of used sails you would sell?

Yeah I have the original main and jib that I no longer use. Both are in serviceable shape. Once I get settled in next week I can send you some pictures l. I have no clue what they are worth so just let me know what you find out. Good luck!

OK I look forward to seeing some pictures. Not sure how that works with the forum. Do you need my email or send them via the forum?

Wondered if you still have those used sails for the contour 34.
