hi all - i need some help - after some thought I thought a forum like this would be a great place to start -

I'm trying to solve a puzzle involving celestial navigation - I have some info, a starting point, a year and some star info, but it's been tough to figure out how to get started on this even after doing some reading on navigation - I was hoping to find someone who could look at the puzzle and help me to get started on it -
