XM's
marine weather is fairly limited in its coverage.....although it does of course, cover the
Florida Keys (and Northern / Central Bahamas), there are MUCH better, MUCH wider coverage, and MUCH cheaper ways to "gert weather"....

1) In the
Florida Keys and near Bahamas, you have the US NWS/NOAA weather
radio transmitting 24/7 with accurate forecasts of the coastal and near
offshore waters...for free...
And, as you venture further, you'll find MUCH better options, also for free....
Not sure what "islands" you're planning on sailing to (Bahamas, Caribbean, etc.), but whatever islands, below you'll find links to more weather related info/forecasts that you could imagine!!!
