Has anyone tried this on a boat? Winegard Company Mobile RV Satellite Antenna, Portable Satellite TV, HDTV Home Antenna Does it work?
The web page talks about motor homes, but says nothing about boats.
This sat TV dish is much cheaper than traditional marine dishes

Rick, This unit will lock on the satellite as long as the unit is stationary. If the boat moves it will not maintain tracking. Chuck

Rick, I use the Winegard FoldDown dish aboard my boat while at the dock. It is similar to the carry out version. Aiming of these types of satellite dishes is completely manual. You must adjust the dish for azimuth and elevation after leveling the dish. If the boat moves sufficiently, you will loose the satellite signal making the dish useless while swinging at anchor. Works great at a dock though once the dish is manually aimed.
