Re: WIFI Reception

We went by solitary bird just now. We r on b dock off your port bow. Wifi wasn't bad early this morning but it has been slow as hell all day. I'm getting used to it. We partied at some place upstairs not far from the water taxi on the beach, had a surf board out front and a great guitar player! We were at the pool all day today. We need to get some provisions tomorrow, we might walk to melaque and cab back. Any recommendations on must eats in town? We went to the loco loco pizza place last night, plan on doing marlenas before we leave. Got some stuff from the French baker this morning but he was out of baguettes! Grrr! Prefer local hole in the walls va tourista traps. Will let u know if the wifi kicks off. You should be able to get whatever wifi we r getting.

Re: WIFI Reception

marys in colimilla for seafoods
there is a guisado place across from telcel acd also across from hectors..i eat there frequently due to pricing... i can afford it!!!
taco stand on the same street not open on weds dammit but 3xcellent
the carnitas tacos on the corner with the birdee is gooooood...
these are not on the tourist street uphill from water taxi, but turn right at the water taxis and go to poco loco then up that street on the far side of poco loco and beyond all to the street before bus stop to melaque.
i need to go to melaque for cat litter tomorrow or thursday, and provision for impending doom err trip.
what is not to miss?? hard to say. this place rocks.
there is a good restaurant next to besame mycho, and so is besame mucho.
best huevos rancheros in town are at the guisado place across from telcel. ask they make em. and handmade tortillas.
have no clue to street names.

oh yeah...i haveto use banda ancha as there aint nothin here on g dock for wifi. seemsthere isa glitch in system.ha ha ha....i t cannot fix..only gets worse daily
am on 5th watching of game of thrones from memory sticks i got from friend.

Re: WIFI Reception

We are on "Grand Isla Navidad" wifi SSID, btw. The marina one didn't work at all.

Sent u a PM about meeting up tomorrow?

Huevos Rancheros is my thing... I once considered making a huevosrancheros.com website where I rated them from everywhere I traveled. Will definitely have to find that place.

We almost ate at Besame mucho or the place next door (freedom something?).. both looked good... but kinda burned out of the high end stuff... we like the cheap eats but cooked with lots of love.

we heard there was some jazz band playing somewhere on thursday?

Re: WIFI Reception

that is the one of the 5 possible adapters i am able to use, bu ti NEED to use a booster to receive it.
the adapter for our use h ah ah a is on top of guard shack. there used to be one over here also, but it went down with patricias big huge appetite.
this is what the big argument here is all about-- we shouldnt NEED a booster system to use the amenity advertised..before the cane, there was excellent wifi here. we g ot spoiled. then came patty baby and ta daa..reeduced to zilch, and now, with new and upgraded service, it SHOULD be decent, but it still isnt that.....
one thing i did notice was the connecions are much improved when sea shell is gone....

i hope they advertise the music over the net, but i am not sure if they do or not.
i know that someone knows, so a question out over net will bring answers!!

\\
by the way--this stuff coming down is NOT rain. we do NOT get rain when it is not cane season HAHAHA wet stuff, tho.. i saw the low over mazatlan..we has a tail of it...
havent been able to access passage weather for trip planning, however......

Re: WIFI Reception

Our wifi chugged on for most of the night, after talking to you I got on the computer and had no wifi. I switched to "Grand Isla Navidad Resort" and after a few retries due to their captive portal having issues I got back on.

So far the two biggest false advertising claims in Mexico:
1) We have potable water (but don't drink it!)
2) We have wifi (it works sometimes, when it does work, it's very slow)

As the Canadians explained to us, TIM.

TIM: This Is Mexico

Can you elaborate a bit more on this?

What do you mean you cannot access our site from Mexico? This doesn't really make any sense.

Are you using Marine WiFi and RV WiFi 3G/4G solutions - The Wirie

Thanks for the help and info, as it would be a concern if this is the case, but technically, I have a hard time believing it. We have many customers in Mexico and they access our support resources via our website.

If indeed you cannot access it from your location, there is something quite wrong (or restrictive) about the internet service you are currently using.

i am constantly redirected to irrelevant adverts and error notices when i attempt to search for the wirie site. ditto island time.
i am using a purchased in mexico ralink 5 mile rated antenna that is directional, as i am in a marina. i have yet to find an omni directional antenna available for purchase within mexico.

Zee has computer problems. I'm on the same wifi, I can access your site just fine.

Zee--u got a toolbar, some malware/adware, or some other issue that is screwing with your internet. that could be why you have such a hard time getting online, the malware is hogging what little internet we get here.

Re: WIFI Reception

yeah i has computer issues--mine will not receive the signal friom the adaptor which is too far frommy boat to receive, so i use a booster antenna with a hotspot program.

HOWEVER, this marina had excellent wifi received by this same computer before and during patricia, so it cannot be blamed on my puter...if this were my otlder puter, i would concur, as it was not able to pick up signal then there was an adapter her eon this sie of the marina. you see, jason cheats-he almost under the adapter, i am long way from it. with a mega between me n it. i get better signal from the swimming pool adapter.
and so i recommend all who come here buy and use a system you find elsewhere to make the wifi here usable.
