What is this SIMRAD port for?

I'm buying an ex-charter boat, and among the equipment in the nav station I found an odd SIMRAD cover I can't make sense of. The cover opens up and there's a usb port and some kind of longer connector at the back. I've attached the pictures.

Can anyone tell what it is for?

Re: What is this SIMRAD port for?

It’s hard to tell from the pictures. My first guess, based on the long plug centered at the back, would be a dock for the old pre-lightning plug iPhones/iPads. It’s close to the Fusion controller, which is an audio system. Maybe the Fusion system was replaced by the car stereo at right and they didn’t want to fill the old holes. IIRC, Simrad once had some kind of deal with Fusion.

Second guess would be some kind of Simrad dock for a remote controller of some kind.

I’ll second the I-thingy dock for the fusion radio idea
