well i bought an asus laptop

it works well i am on it right now...

i posted a thread in navigation about it.

i bought a usb tv tuner so it can be used for that, nav and computer stuff. it draws 36 watts according to the power supply, but that covers the computer running, wifi, battery charging etc so i dont know the real world cruising draw is but it must be lower.

my plan is to slave a flat screen monitor on a swing arm for inside use when a bigger screen is needed, and be able to swing it out for in cockpit use. when teamed with a wireless keyboard and mouse i should be able sit anywhere on my 27 foot boat and control the laptop. that avoids the splash and spray problems

its a fun little thing, that will gets lots of use from me
