Lightbulb Weather Fax for My PC via SSB

First off my caps lock is off, lol.

What are you guys using for a weather fax program on your pc's, via SSB? I am working with an Icom IC M600 and a Sony Ibook.

Many thanks,

The crew of WINDTHIEF

When disconnected from the internet we use every source available. Local radio, our eyes, barometer and weather fax.

For PC software I use Xaxro Weatherfax 2000 soundcard version, works like a champ with my old SEA225 SSB. If you have a newer SSB they offer different version that accept direct data from the SSB.

Thanks guys, those are all very good sites and will come in handy. I'm going to make my choice after the ssb/ham course on the 23rd-25th here in San Diego.

“Good Old Boat” magazine will be publishing an article on Weather Interpretation & Reading Surface Maps (author’s title), under their (edited) title:
“Going cruising? Here’s how to read the weather maps”.
The author’s been paid, so would expect it to appear in the next (Oct-Nov) issue.

grounding a ssb on a freeport 41

Hello,

I know this is an old thread, but thought it might get a question to you.

I have a 1984 Freeport 41, and am thinking about installing a ssb. The grounding of the ssb seems complicated however. I'm wondering how you grounded your ssb on your Freeport. Any help would be great!

Thanks.
